[upside down] Doges palace.
splendid palace [?] [alley ?] [buts ?]
[Door?] [at ?] [?] & [?] Traceried window of facade: next bridge of Sighs
where I was today canal - the 3rd of my catalogue.
Jambs - section - &c . all like the next only
A 4th in brick plinth not divided under the shaft. though
at Ponte Erizzo varied bases all eight - Leaf capital to
jambs: bold - well cut. no heads - but of
[diagram] Parrocchia St Martin the ruder and coarser or second period
- & not of the delicate period = (Shafts spiral ___________A)
Palace with early balcony as the others - with truncated blocks flat and
at arsenal bases all like the others with the firm
all 4ths ribbed leaf I have described so painfully,
- but the central shaft heads have been
thoroughly ill cut. all notched & jagged
and I cannot make out their date: and
thin leaves are less ably thrown. more upright
- : in addition to this iron bar which
crosses the window - inserted into these shaft
heads - has split off their outer halves
which have been restored most vilely
- and yet though the restoration is white
and looks quite new - it is hardly [worn?]
[out?] than the work below - so that I
thought it might be the original but - cleaned
-only the section is shallower above
[diagram] in the old [diagram] in the new.
