                                                                      Above this shallow upper plinth
                                                                      there is nothing whatever but the
                                                                      plain [wagon?] vaulting the flat arch
                                                                      which is  9  “  6 high above it exactly
                                                                      under the soffit
                                                                        Now this arch stands on the shaded cornice
                                                                      above which projects about 3 inches on one
                                                                      side & over on the other beyond the wall now
                                                                      the wall piers are just 21 feet apart giving
                                                                      20  “  8. for the arch span.
                                                                      This is of course the sub arch.
