                                                                      precisely the capital of the Bacon
                                                                      palace. and the two upper tiers
                                                                        have richer capitals of same
                                                                          firm transition period.
                                                                         Now the solid leaf mouldings of the arches
                                                                      are not very wild - I should almost
                                                                         put them as early as the Foscari alley
                                                                         Madonna. - Yet And they are
                                                                        of a piece with the niches and they
                                                                       as I say with Bacon palace and
                                                                      Priuli and yet. The under cabled
                                                                        niches with cabled shafts shows  arch
                                                                      as filled by vile wooden looking
                                                                          figures
                                                                      
                                                                      I see these are all modern additions
                                                                      & beastly
                                                                      The niche over this projection			(2)
                                                                          which I have daged on
                                                                           both sides
                                                                      in piazzetta di Leoni
                                                                      has exquisite transitional
                                                                          capitals of the Priuli &
                                                                      Miracoli class . and a beautiful
                                                                          armed figure
