The importance of the Liber Studiorum for Ruskin.

Four distinct and important aspects of Ruskin 's engagement with the Liber Studiorum can be identified. First, there is his perception of the unity of the Liber Studiorum. Secondly, he sees the Liber as an expression of the range of Turner's sympathy with the human condition. A third mode of engagement concerns Ruskin as a collector of the Liber Studiorum; and fourthly there is the influence of the Liber Studiorum on Ruskin's drawing style.
