Henry Sass (1788-1844). Painter of portraits and figurative subjects. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, the British Institution and the Society of British Artists. Founder of Sass's Academy in Charlotte Street, Bloomsbury were he worked as a drawing master. The Academy was taken over in 1840 by F. S. Carey and became Carey's School of Art.
