The painting is mentioned by Waagen, Treasures of Art in Great Britain, Volume II, p. 347 as:
A landscape with monks fishing. With a fine composition are here united careful finish and uncommon clearness.
It is now attributed to a follower of Salvator Rosa, and is not currently on display.
There are references to the picture at MP I:227, MP I:251, and MP I:308.
