Andy MiahDr Andy Miah is Lecturer in Media, Bioethics, and Cyberculture at University of Paisley, UK and Tutor in Ethics of Science & Medicine in the Graduate School of Biomedical & Life Sciences, University of Glasgow, UK. In 2002, he was a international visiting fellow at The Hastings Center, New York. His research is informed by an interest in applied ethics, technology, and culture and he has published over 50 academic articles in refereed journals, books, e-zines, and national media press on the subjects of cyberculture, medicine, technology, and sport. Recent publications include the Journal of Medical Ethics, CTHEORY, Culture Machine and Research in Philosophy, Technology. He has also written for leading newspapers, including The Observer, and the Times Higher Education Supplement. He recently published'Genetically Modified Athletes: Biomedical Ethics, Gene Doping and Sport' (Routledge) and is currently working on a co-authored book titled'The Medicalisation of Cyberspace'. He has given guest lectures at Yale, Harvard and the Royal Institution of Great Britain and in 2003/4 he gave invited papers at congresses in Greece , Switzerland , USA , Brazil , Spain , UK , and the Netherlands.
