Donor Wall Unveiling
On the 4th February 2019 The Rt Hon Alan Milburn, Chancellor, and Professor Mark E. Smith,
Vice-Chancellor, unveiled Lancaster’s first donor wall. The wall serves to thank our existing donors, encourage ongoing support and attract future donors to the University. Located in the main library, the wall recognises 232 individuals and organisations who have given to a range of projects across campus. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all of our donors – no matter which level they give at, each of them help us to deliver our mission – supporting a wide range of research as well as enriching the student experience at Lancaster.
In the last two years growing numbers of our alumni have become University Philanthropists and joined us as Ambassadors, Pioneers, Guardians and Patrons.
Many of those have been acknowledged on our Donor Wall (above)*. These donors help us to advance and to further establish a culture of philanthropy at Lancaster University.
Our Ambassadors are members of a highly valued group of philanthropists who support our students to maximise the value of their studies, regardless of background or financial means.
Our Pioneers support projects and university initiatives that simply could not be delivered without their support. They play a key role in the support and development of our students.
Our Guardians are philanthropists that have made demonstrable philanthropic commitments to Lancaster. They are the custodians of the philanthropic ideal at Lancaster.
Lancaster University Patrons are our philanthropic leaders who have made a significant commitment to our University. Their support has a direct and ongoing effect on university life.
If you are interested in becoming one of our philanthropists please email Paul McCarthy at p.mccarthy2@lancaster.ac.uk or call 07813 533 094.
*We would also like to thank all those philanthropists that have supported Lancaster University anonymously.
