Spring into CGE

A series of short online networking events for university researchers and students, academics and professional staff

The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation (CGE) in its new role as a University-wide interdisciplinary research centre hosted a series of short online networking events for university researcher staff and students, academics and professional staff to connect around our research and innovation themes.

The aim of these 1-hour interactive sessions was to bring together relevant people and activities from across the University to share knowledge, ideas and help build interdisciplinary connections for developing and delivering sustainable solutions. Each online event was based around one of our four research themes and involved lightening talks, networking, and interactive elements. Each event is available to stream below.

Connecting on Net-Zero Carbon - Event Stream (held 15th April 1pm)

To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, global greenhouse gas emissions must reach net-zero by 2050. Achieving ‘Net-Zero’ requires innovation across sectors in every part of our economies and societies.

Connecting on Circular Solutions – Event Stream (held 19th April, 2pm)

Re-thinking how we design, manufacture, share, reuse, recycle and repurpose resources and products is essential to securing a sustainable future.

Connecting on Nature-Based Solutions – Event Stream (21st April 10am)

By working with nature, rather than against it, we can enhance the delivery of those goods and services, support thriving ecosystems, and developing a green economy.

Connecting on Enabling Eco-Innovation – Event Stream (22nd April, 2pm)

Finding robust, adaptive and appropriate approaches to supporting eco-innovation is vital given the urgency of our environmental challenges, the pace of change in technology and the threats of disruption.
