NOVA University Lisbon announces new University campus in Cairo


NOVA University Lisbon, one of Lancaster’s strategic partners, has recently announced the opening of its first campus outside of Portugal. The new campus is located in Cairo, Egypt, with plans to be fully operational from September 2022. NOVA Cairo will offer English-taught degrees in the areas of Management, Engineering and Data Science.

This initiative, which will be conducted in partnership with The Knowledge Hub Universities, is an important step in NOVA’s internationalisation strategy. The signing of this agreement took place on October 26, 2021, in Cairo by Professor João Sàágua, Rector of NOVA University, and Professor Mahmoud Allam, President of The Knowledge Hub Universities.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Ambassador Manuela Franco, Portuguese Ambassador to Egypt, Professor João Amaro de Matos, Vice-Rector of NOVA, along with senior representatives from NOVA University Lisbon. The ceremony also counted with the presence of Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Ihab Salama, CEO of El Sewedy Education and Vice-Chairman of Board of Trustees.
