Event Details

The annual British International History Group Conference will take place at Lancaster University this year. It will span over 3 days, from Thursday 5th September (afternoon only) to Saturday 7th September (morning only).

Lancaster University’s History Department is delighted to announce that it will host the Annual Conference of the British International History Group (BIHG) from 5 to 7 September 2019. This conference will bring together emerging and leading scholars from Britain and around the world to present their latest research in International History. The Annual Conference has been a yearly event for decades, and is the primary focus of the BIHG, which was established in 1987 and, as a sub-group of the British International Studies Association (BISA), aims to promote new approaches to the study of international affairs as a discipline of history while being committed to interdisciplinary methods. The 2019 Annual Conference will feature a keynote speech by Professor Kathleen Burk (University College London) and a high-profile round table discussion on the mutually informative relationship between International and Military History.
