*COVID-19 Update: We have taken the decision to postpone this exhibition due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and will provide further details in due course.*

As part of our partnership with the Alliance Française de Manchester, DeLC is happy to announce that we will host an exhibition based on press drawings from all over the world, ‘Dessins en liberté’. This exhibition was launched in 2016-2017, following the 2015 attacks on Charlie Hebdo in Paris. It features a variety of topics, such as environment, sports, gender equality and, of course, freedom of speech.

The exhibition will be set up in the social area on the ground floor of the Roundhouse from 16th March to 20th March 2020. The panels are in French, but a translation will be provided for everyone in form of a booklet. The exhibition is free and open to all students, members of staff and of the community, as well as local schools.

We are also launching a drawing competition open to all students in DeLC. The winners of this competition will be announced at a roundtable event about Freedom of Speech on 19th March, during which we are hosting a number of speakers from departments of the Faculty.
