Student success stories: Top 10 in UG of the Year

Lucy Hitchens

The TargetJobs Undergraduate of the Year Award Celebrating Neurodiverse Talent is sponsored by Rolls Royce and its data innovation catalyst, R2 Data Labs. It uses emerging technology, such as AI and advanced data analytics, to reimagine how businesses run their operations. This is the first year of the award, that embarked on a nationwide search for inspirational neurodiverse students at UK universities. The award is open to first- and second-year students on three-year courses and first-, second- and third-year students on a four-year course with a neurodivergent condition, such as autism, dyslexia or ADHD.

Lucy Hitchens, one of our undergraduate students, has become one of the Top 10 Finalists for the award and was offered a ten-week internship with Rolls Royce after a successful assessment centre, where her assessors were very impressed by her presentation and answers to the interview and case study sections.

Lucy is set to attend an awards ceremony on April 29th, where the winner of this award will be announced. Prizes include a ten-week, paid summer internship starting in June/July 2022, an Apple watch, and Rolls-Royce-branded gifts. The winner will also spend a working day shadowing a Rolls-Royce leader – a fantastic opportunity to discover how decisions are made and to build your network.
