Starting out with fundamental research into the role of litterfall in tropical forest nutrient and carbon dynamics, Dr Emma Sayer will discuss how studies of plant traits, arthropod communities, and soil microbial processes have contributed to new ideas for research into tropical futures.
Dr Sayer's research is shaped by an innate curiosity for what makes ecosystems work. Here she will describe how she finds studying ecosystem processes in highly diverse tropical forests both exciting and challenging.
