Lancaster University Library’s website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

The pages listed below are not fully compliant with the AA standard. We are actively working towards AA or higher compliance in these areas:

Third party content and systems

A number of services are delivered via third party systems that we do not design or control directly. These are described below:

Subject Guides – provided by LibGuides from Springshare. The LibGuides platform is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. The content we have added to the platform meets the accessibility requirements for public sector bodies.

Library Group Study Spaces – provided by LibCal from Springshare. The LibCal platform is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

OneSearch – provided by Primo from Ex Libris. Primo is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

Out of Hours Chat – provided by LibAnswers from Springshare. The LibAnswers platform is compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

Resource Lists – provided by Leganto from Ex Libris. The Leganto platform is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

Library digital resources

The Library’s online collections of e-journals, e-books and other resources are provided by third party publishers and vendors and hosted on their platforms, we do not design or control directly.

The majority of platforms offer a good level of accessibility and typically have a user accessibility statement with further information.

Accessibility is a key consideration for us when we make decisions about purchasing digital content, and we proactively highlight the importance of accessibility for our users in our interactions with publishers and vendors.

Lancaster Eprints

Lancaster University’s institutional repository is Lancaster Eprints. It is built using the Eprints open source software package. Lancaster Eprints is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, and we are actively working towards achieving full compliance. A current known area of partial compliance is the Advanced Search.
