Working within the Faculty of Science and Technology I can support students and researchers in developing their information literacy skills. This can include assistance with effective database searching, carrying out a literature review, accessing subject-specific resources and using referencing software, including Mendeley.

Together with my colleague Lesley I work with academic staff to develop print and electronic collections to support teaching and research across subject disciplines in FST.

This involves identifying and responding to resource requirements together with liaison with library vendors and publishers, including the negotiation of licence terms. I also have responsibility for the advocacy and support of the online resource list system.

I have been involved in and have an ongoing interest in makerspaces and maker culture, open source software and operating systems, single board computing, active learning and cybersecurity.
