Elizabeth Roberts Working Class Oral History Archive
Social and family life in Barrow, Lancaster and Preston, 1870-1970.
This study was made by Elizabeth Roberts at the Centre of North West Regional Studies, which is now the Regional Heritage Centre at Lancaster University. The collection consists of interviews of people made in the 1970s onwards with recordings and transcripts of the interviews. The interviewees talk about their early life and memories in the periods of the study. This archive gives an insight into the lives of the working-class in the North West between 1870-1970.
Transcripts from the study are available in the Library in Special Collections.
The collection has now been digitised and is available via the Regional Heritage Centre at Lancaster University.
