Actively managing and adapting our physical spaces, changing throughout the year, hosting activities and events and engaging in ways not usually associated with libraries.
We have a diverse programme of activities, events, exhibitions and displays, throughout the year.
Our events programme includes teaching, workshops and individual guidance to support learning, research, and effective use of the library for students and staff.
Our exhibitions, displays and activities address a wide range of themes from health and wellbeing to celebrating diversity. Our programme frequently includes hybrid and online events, extending access to those not on campus, including members of the public.
We seek opportunities to partner with others and welcome requests to host exhibitions and events where they align with our Library vision towards 2025.

From Beirut to the Moon: A conversation with Naji Bakhti Thursday 17th June, 5 - 6.30pm (BST)
Dr Zoe Lambert and Dr Lindsey Moore in conversation with Lancaster University alumni, Naji Bakhti, author of Between Beirut and the Moon.
Naji joined us from Beirut, Lebanon to read a passage from his debut, coming-of-age novel and answered questions from attendees.
Library front-line team members presented at this virtual conference, open to both staff and students, on Enhancing the Student Experience in a Post-Covid World.
The University Library was delighted to welcome Petrichor as the first event in its newly opened extension. This immersive performance blurs the boundaries between virtual and physical worlds and is a fantastic introduction to our vision for what the Library will offer in the future.
Author event with Damian Barr: Reading from 'You will be safe here' and Q&A
In recognition of LGBT+ History Month 2021, the Library in partnership with the Lancaster University Staff LGBT+ network, were delighted to welcome Damian Barr, Lancaster University alumnus and award-winning writer and broadcaster, to read from his debut novel 'You will be safe here'.
LGBT+ History Month is an annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans+ and queer culture taking place in February each year. It provides an opportunity to reflect on and remember the history of the LGBT+ rights and related civil rights movements.
Lancaster Data Conversations How Digital Humanities Impacts Research Data Management
In the past, Lancaster Data Conversations have been vibrant two-hour events where current Research Data Management (RDM) issues are discussed. Data conversations 2021 temporarily moved to an online platform with a one-hour session which has been recorded and is available to view online, this event continues to provide huge insight into RDM. For the first time, we were also delighted to open our event to all.
