Lancaster Arts welcomes you to The People's Palace of Possibility!
A chance to imagine a better future through a series of parcels and packages delivered to your door is being offered during lockdown.
The intriguing invitation to join a group of like-minded of local people to build The People’s Palace of Possibility comes from Lancaster Arts, the public arts organisation at Lancaster University.
So, if you live in the Lancaster and Morecambe area, you are invited to join The People’s Palace of Possibility.
This is a story which unfolds through the post, online and on your phone.
Set within an imaginary world where change is deemed impossible, you will share visions of the future and where to go next.
"At a time when many of us feel confined with our sense of the world reduced, this reaches out and reminds us to keep thinking about change,” explains Richard Smith, Lancaster Arts Curator.
“It reminds us we can influence the future. And it reminds us we play an important role in imagining what the future might be.”
The People’s Palace of Possibility is free of charge to make the project accessible to the widest number of people.
However, there are a limited number of places so people are urged to register quickly before the Friday, February 12 deadline.
You can fill in the short registration form to personalise your experience here.
The experience starts on February 19 and will run for four weeks. You will be contacted via post or other means about once a week during the project.
The People's Palace is created by Sheffield-based The Bare Project and brought to Lancaster District by Lancaster Arts.
If you know someone who you think would enjoy the experience, but doesn’t have online access, you can ask them to get in touch at 01524 593777 for more information.
