Department Open Days
We encourage applicants to come to one of our Visit Days to see what we think Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster has to offer.
Departmental Applicant Visit Days
Our departmental runs several Applicant Visit Days, which are primarily for applicants who have received an offer for study at Lancaster.
There will be various presentations and mini-lectures for both students and parents, student-led tours around campus, including the chance to view a typical study bedroom. Refreshments and the opportunity to speak to members of staff within the Department and other departments closely linked to Linguistics and English Language, will be available during each visit day. Our students tell us that the Lancaster experience is quite special and that you need to come to a visit day in order to appreciate Lancaster's advantages.
If you can't make it to one of our Visit Days you can still get a sense of what it would be like to come and study with us by watching some video-clips by undergraduate students. Our students thought that they could help prospective students appreciate what the Lancaster experience is like.
Campus Tours & Undergraduate Open Days
If you are unable to attend one of the department Applicant Visit Days or would like to visit us before making an application then you can still visit us as part of the University's Campus Tours and Undergraduate Open Days.
Lancaster University organises regular campus tours throughout the year to enable potential applicants and their parents to visit our superb facilities. Your visit will give you a flavour of life at Lancaster, and we’re confident that it will inspire you to pick Lancaster as your chosen university. Some campus tours include a department drop-in session.
