LuBBs Command Line Options

LuBBs Log-on's
-------------
There are a number of options available to use with LuBBs from the main unix
prompt, detailed as follows:

Syntax		Function
------		--------

lubbs -c        This checks LuBBs for any new messages that have been entered
                since you last logged on, without you having to log onto LuBBs
                itself, especially useful in say .login files, with other
                startup commands.

lubbs -h        This option will give a brief resume of all the options, in
                effect a help option.

lubbs -m	Turns off external messages when logging onto LuBBs

lubbs -n	Outputs new messages for capture, especially useful for reading
                the messages off line or when LuBBs is busy, To output the
                messages into a file, use syntax of the form:
                lubbs -n > msgs		(where the file is msgs)
                You can optionally specify a specific conference, eg:
                lubbs -n talk > msgs

lubbs -p        Allows you to post an external file or mail message to LuBBs
                You can optionally put the name of a file after lubbs -p and
                LuBBs will attempt to post directly from that file. At the
                start of this file there must be a line starting Conference: 
                followed by the name of the conference to post the message in 
                and a line starting Subject: containing the subject for the
                message. There can also optionally be a line starting To: and
                followed by a person you wish the message to be directed to. 

lubbs -q	Logs onto LuBBs quietly without displaying how many new
                messages you have in each conference.

lubbs -w        This list the users currently on LuBBs without the need to log
                onto LuBBs, the output is the same as for the <U>sers command
                available from within LuBBs.
