I figured that seeing as there’s nothing left for us to really talk about in terms of events, I’d do a year in review sort of thing. Mainly, this is a bunch of shout outs to various people and/or societies.

First and foremost, a huge shout out to our Rocket League team for their amazing performance in the tournaments that they played. They absolutely smashed the Winter League by straight up winning it and came second overall in the European League. Top tier work from the RL team, hope to keep it up next year.

We’ve also had a bunch of socials this year, some of which with other societies such as bar crawls with Senet, LUMAS and Smash Bros. tournament that we held with the Mental Health Society. So, a shout out to all of these societies and everyone that was involved with any of the socials too.

We also had our LUGES Annual BBQ this year as well, thanks to everyone that came to that. It was pretty good, there were games during and afterwards and we all only got mild food poisoning. Can’t wait to do it all next year though.

The big Alton Towers Trip that we were pushing for about two months also happened as well. We decided to open it up to every university member which, in hindsight, was a great idea cause we got to spread some of that good old LUGES spirit to everyone that went. It also helped our ticket sales. Again, a top tier trip and I’m genuinely looking forward to the one next year if we decide to have another one.

Even bigger boi Bailrigg happened just last week too and a big shout out to everyone that participated and an even bigger shout out to the winners:
scr7 for Smash Ultimate Singles
scr7 and Zone for Smash Ultimate Doubles
Looking forward to the next Bailrigg and hopefully, by then they’ll have added some of my favourite characters. But until then, GAME!

And with all that said and done, here’s the last fact of the week and this one’s carrying y’all till October so enjoy:
The members of LUGES are what keeps the society going and are by far the best thing about LUGES.

See y’all in October,
Mo – LUGES General Secretary and sending a special shout to {{user_forename}}

Hey guys, It’s the generoli secretoli with the last newsletter of the year.
