We will be running some form of casual event, like jackbox skribblio, joint socials. Wants to try to do more than one event in the week if people can host. <strong>Sam <\/strong>cant host Jackbox but others can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that last years freshers, it was one week and we did an event on each of the days. However due to current circumstances it will be tricky to do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>states we wont have as strong of a pull due to current circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>says we are very limited on what we can do, including Smash Online as the latency makes it very unlikely to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Noah<\/strong> confirms this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>recalls the events we had last year and sees if we can do any of those this year if they are online. The conclusion being &#8220;not really&#8221;. Then suggests more Jackbox streams and starting Skribblio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack&nbsp;<\/strong>recommends Among Us as it is an excellent game at the moment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh&nbsp;<\/strong>states that it is as easy to set up as Jackbox, so it is easy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James&nbsp;<\/strong>likes this idea<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack&nbsp;<\/strong>states that Among Us can be played on phone for free<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam&nbsp;<\/strong>says she will get these socials planned by Wednesday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James&nbsp;<\/strong>asks about hosting Garry&#8217;s Mod<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack&nbsp;<\/strong>says there is potential<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that a lot of people have GMod, and that TTT, Prop Hunt, Pictionary and Sandbox are good ideas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>says we need to sort the bank account out so we can rent a server because hosting one would be too difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that he has a circumstance where he can get the superfast rural internet to sort something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>goes back to money and asks if anyone objects to making the first term free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks for clarification on whether to make term 1 free or make the yearly fee less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>prefers Term 1 being free, then making Terms 2 and 3 roughly \u00a34.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>and <strong>Noah <\/strong>express agreement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>says that we probably won&#8217;t end up spending any money during 1st term<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack&nbsp;<\/strong>agrees<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>states how he still doesn&#8217;t have access to Union Cloud<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>then discovers that nobody has LUSU Union Cloud access; he then states he will submit a society help form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>expresses concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>presses F to pay respects for Award Winning Browser &#8220;Internet Explorer&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>also does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Katie <\/strong>says that we would still want people to prove that they got membership even if it is free<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>inquires about a free membership choice, that still needs a sign-up for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>says thats a good idea<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>says we go back to the current item on the agenda, then asks <strong>Sam <\/strong>what events happening in freshers weeks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>will send an excel spreadsheet into the exec chat at some point<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>suggests that events should not have a specific game, and should be more of a generic social, and then decide when it rolls around<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>brings up <strong>Henry&#8217;s <\/strong>point, where during events, open voice channels for different purposes to be decided. As well as Exec introductions but this will be discussed in the next agenda item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks for peoples availability for the freshers weeks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>thinks everyone will be available<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>will be available once she moves in<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states again that this availability doesn&#8217;t include just hosting events. Still, he wants every event to have one person hosting and at least one person moderating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>asks for everyone to DM her their availability so she can write down and sort things out later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>requests that availability be sent in the exec chat, because it is useful for everyone to know<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rhys <\/strong>states he is moving in the weekend after this meeting, available from moving in<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James<\/strong> asks about his previous commitments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rhys <\/strong>states that his commitments were back at home and he no longer needs to do them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>says if there is anyone on campus and not available, to inform the exec ASAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>states that he will not be back on campus until October 4th<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks if he (<strong>Jack<\/strong>) will be available for hosting\/moderating at home<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>states he will be in the evenings, not during the days<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>reminded that events should be started later on in the day due to members being available at the right times, as requested by <strong>Josh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>says she can only do evenings anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>states these availabilities will change once we are all back at uni<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks for <strong>Sam&#8217;s <\/strong>excel spreadsheet to be posted in the exec by Wednesday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exec Introductions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James<\/strong> messages <strong>Henry<\/strong> to give his point if he is available as instructed by <strong>Henry <\/strong>himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Henry <\/strong>is unavailable still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam<\/strong> states she knows a good deal about <strong>Henry&#8217;s <\/strong>ideas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that he wants clarification on why these engagement team ideas are not being relayed to him, but he will investigate that later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks <strong>Sam <\/strong>to give information about Henry&#8217;s proposition<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>explains that the idea is during the first few socials, we have exec members in voice channels playing their favourite games, e.g. <strong>Josh <\/strong>in a voice channel introducing Among Us to fellow freshers, asking to play for a bit<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>requests that <strong>Josh <\/strong>stays quiet about Alton Towers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>states the basic idea is to have exec introduce themselves in voice channels making freshers feel comfortable, then playing games with them, helping freshers get to know us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>adds that adding text channels with each exec providing an introduction was also requested by <strong>Henry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>asks for exec introductions to be possibly put on social media similar to how the JCRs and SU do theirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that some exec members might be uncomfortable with their picture being posted on social media with their introduction. Then asks the rest of the exec if they don&#8217;t want their pics posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>says he has no good pictures of himself<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Katie <\/strong>says it can be a pic of his dog<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>says it could be profile pictures instead if people prefered<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everyone jokes about putting anime pics instead<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoodies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that now we know more about 1st term, recapping on the previous plan to get exec hoodies first, then wearing them in 1st term so people knew who we were. Followed by then organising hoodies for members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that now there will be no meetings in person, so exec hoodies arent really needed until term 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks when we should request exec hoodies<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>suggests November<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>doesnt want them to be ready to collect by christmas, as we might not be able to collect them<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Katie <\/strong>suggests having the hoodies ready for exec to take home before Christmas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>agrees, and will place the order at the start of November<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks if anyone doesnt want a hoodie<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Katie <\/strong>will see what theyre like first<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>might not be able to afford it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>reiterates we have until November to decide and\/or save up<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A plan for Bank Stuff<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states he will be back in Lancaster in a week or so. He will have access to Barclays then, so he can submit the necessary forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks <strong>Josh <\/strong>who needs to give forms<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>replies with just <strong>James <\/strong>and <strong>Katie<\/strong>. And <strong>Jack <\/strong>will need to be added later on<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states he can use the library printers to print off and fill out necessary forms<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Katie <\/strong>is currently in a local lockdown, so is unable to do anything bank related<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>states that we won&#8217;t be spending any money in 1st term, especially since we wont be taking in membership fees<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that LUSU have allowed us more time to sort out bank stuff<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>asks <strong>Katie <\/strong>if there is any way to send him a completed form<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>iterates that each of them needs to give in their own forms in person. Which prevents <strong>Katie <\/strong>from doing anything at the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>iterates that when Preston&#8217;s lockdown gets lifted, bank stuff will need to be sorted out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discord Moderation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states that the Discord server has had a lot of questionable content posted recently, and as a result, questions on what to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>suggests requesting only English to be spoken in the server so that there is no confusion and everyone can be involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>and <strong>Jack <\/strong>acknowledge comments made against other countries and wonder if anything should be done about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>asks if any Discord ToS have been breached<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>reveals a questionable message written by Member A, potentially discriminatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>did message Member A to stop and Member A argued against him about why it isn&#8217;t bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>recalls of non-members being banned straight away if the cause is bad enough<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>recommends that we ban Member B after being advised by LUSU to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>brings up how we will strip the current member role and give past member roles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>suggests renaming the current member role to past member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states this will give us two past member roles. James thinks there might be a more elegant way of doing this with Dyno, but is unsure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>will attempt this in his spare time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>quickly checks to see if there is any quick way to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General Consensus on banning Member B as advised by LUSU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>states that Member C is potentially making people uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>wanted more opinions on Members A and C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>states Member C hasnt explicitly broken any rules so is not at risk of a ban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>states there are flaws in the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>agrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>cannot get Dyno to work, so suggests to move on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discord Freshers Channels (More Opinions)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Josh <\/strong>doesnt like the idea of Freshers Channels<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>says there are plenty of places to talk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>reiterates that some of the discord channels are topic-specific and are not suitable for general-chat. Still, general-chat might be a little intimidating with whats going on. So having a new empty channel for freshers might be useful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sam <\/strong>asks for a Freshers zone<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>states we had chat and introductions channels last year that were used a decent amount<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Katie <\/strong>also remembers this<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>is all for having these channels again<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jack <\/strong>is hesitant on the name Freshers Fortnight due to possible confusion with an unrelated Battle Royale game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General Consensus on Freshers Channels being a good idea<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James <\/strong>falls back to moderation quickly and brings up only speaking English<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Katie <\/strong>states it should not be enforced, but simply recommended.
