Real wages are falling at the fastest rate in living memory as the cost of living crisis bites, but the labour market continues to be tight.

Real wages are falling at the fastest rate in living memory as the cost of living crisis bites, but the labour market continues to be tight.

Unemployment is at its lowest rate for 48 years and there are 1.2 million unfilled jobs across the UK. While some employers are struggling to find new staff, economic inactivity is still rising.

As the new Prime Minister settles into No 10 Downing Street after a whirlwind first month, how can the newly formed Government support workers and employers in challenging times?

Join the Work Foundation and a panel of experts to review the labour market statistics from the Office for National Statistics, and what it means for workers, businesses and communities.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Dr Linda Yueh, Economist, Writer and Broadcaster
  • Kate Shoesmith, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Recruitment & Employment Confederation
  • Jane Gratton, Head of Policy, British Chambers of Commerce
  • Tom Pollard, Independent Policy Expert on mental health, social security and employment
