Other sections in Our Departments:
We are the longest established Marketing department in the UK - the first chair was instituted in Lancaster in 1964 and was partly funded by the Institute of Marketing. We have a proud history of delivering Marketing courses, which have included a strong project component based on "real-world" company problems.
Over the years, our expertise has grown into three key areas of research; consumer behaviour, business marketing and market studies. Our research makes important contributions to the business world and enhances our teaching.
By harnessing the power of research and academic insight, we are leading the debate on a range of global issues. Read our latest article "We Want Tripe" by Dr James Cronin, who argues that the curious repackaging of tripe provides important insights into consumer culture trends. Discover how we are engaging with organisations by visiting For Business.
Within this department we offer a range of study options at undergraduate, Masters and PhD level covering a wide range of subdisciplines within Marketing.
Our undergraduate courses help you acquire the sophisticated skills and marketing principles demanded by the internet-connected world.
Catering for experienced marketers and those just starting out, our Masters courses help you collaborate with key industry players.
Our PhD programmes are designed to give you a rewarding experience that will help you to enhance your personal and professional life.
Our research is characterised by criticality, reflexivity and a strong desire to help shape the world in which we live.
