An update on the Lancaster MBA
Hello and thank you for your interest in the Lancaster University MBA programme. I am very proud of our MBA programme and happy to share with you the highlights of our programme.
The Lancaster MBA, our flagship programme, enjoys a rich heritage and engaged community that is over 30 years in the making. Our committed MBA team make sure our programme curriculum is constantly evolving to ensure our graduates acquire the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to excel in contemporary business environments. Consistently remaining relevant and delivering excellence, the Lancaster MBA is built upon our expertise in strategy, social sustainability, and responsibility. Theory is contextualised through real examples and live cases, and learning is enhanced through a practice-based approach.
Practice-based learning is integral to the Lancaster MBA and usually includes regular visits to regional companies, guest lectures from our Entrepreneurs and Leaders in Residence, our alumni and other business leaders, alumni networking events, business consulting events in London and elsewhere, and our International Business in Context module.
This approach enables our students to make the ‘right’ decisions as business leaders; decisions that ensure the best outcomes, that consider our environment, wellbeing, opportunity, risk and so much more. Ultimately, our students are offered the opportunity to challenge themselves, to develop their mindset and transform themselves into the leaders this world needs.
Our students graduate with strategic organisational understanding and a resilience and that allows them to thrive in turbulent and changing situations. They are able to overcome challenges and identify opportunities, especially in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environments.
Thanks to our heritage and international community, we have an exciting and diverse global outlook. The Lancaster MBA benefits from enrolling students from around the globe, collaborating with our worldwide business contacts, networking with our international network of nearly 2000 MBA alumni, and learning from our international professors. Our students are encouraged to embrace, connect with, and learn from the rich and varied cultures they experience while in the programme. Lancaster University MBA students graduate as globally fluent leaders, ready to shape organisations, industries, and societies.
We have great things planned for the MBA programme in 2021. Guided by the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, we are working with the Pentland Centre and the Work Foundation to establish stronger connections between business and our local communities through hands-on projects that are driven by the purpose of achieving responsible, sustainable, and inclusive outcomes. The MBA programme will be filled with exciting and challenging opportunities to learn more about business, develop leadership and organisational skills, and develop the global professional network that will expand our students’ employment opportunities.
Thank you for your interest in the Lancaster University MBA programme. We look forward to welcoming you to Lancaster in September 2021.
Dr Robyn Remke
