Keeping our MBA network connected

A network of people connected by dotted lines

Responding to current restrictions and making the most of new digital technology opportunities, the last few months have been busy with a range of online events for our MBA alumni.

The latest of these events brought together 40 alumni from around the world for an exclusive opportunity to network and to hear a Consultancy sector update from engaging careers strategist, Don Leslie. Alumni attending included from each of our three decades of the MBA, and from 12 countries.

Other events have included guest speaker masterclasses and webinars on the topics of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Responsible Leadership, Gender Matters, and Leading through Times of Change; as well as a series of three careers-focussed webinars led by experienced careers coach, Peter Fennah.

The events have been open to alumni of our full-time MBA programme and our part-time Executive MBA, which includes alumni who were taught in the UK and also at international partner institutions.

Full-time MBA Programme Director, Robyn Remke commented: “The silver lining to 2020 was being able to connect with our alumni, company partners, and friends of the Lancaster MBA using our online resources.

It has been a delight to catch up with so many of our alumni and hear how they are surviving - and even thriving - during this difficult year. Even more, we were able to collaborate with our programme partners from around the globe who shared their passion and expertise on a wide range of topics with the simple click of a button. No tiresome travel necessary!

So, while many of us are locked down in our homes and communities, we are still able to communicate, share, and learn from each other. This will be the model we emulate moving forward. I envision further enhanced MBA programme connections and deeper networks that will facilitate our commitments to life-long learning.”

Video recordings of some of our guest speaker talks are available to view via the MBA Playlist on the LUMS YouTube channel.

More events are planned for 2021, with new guest speaker insights and more networking opportunities focussed around different business sectors and geographical locations.
