A Lancaster undergraduate and members of a new student society have been presented with awards by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

First-year Accounting and Finance student Adit Kaleka has been awarded CIMA Accounting Student of the Year 2021-2022.

Adit was selected by Samantha Mathieson, CIMA Student Recruitment Manager, in recognition of his academic performance. He was chosen from among students she works with at UK universities.

Students involved in the newly formed Lancaster University Accounting Society, led by second-year Accounting and Finance student Bethan Jones, were also presented with an award for their outstanding contribution.

The society was set up in Michaelmas term and has arranged a series of events for Lancaster University students.

Samantha said: “This is the first time I have awarded Accounting Student of the Year to a student at Lancaster, however it is something I plan to continue each year with the university.

“As I work closely with the Accounting Society, I see and hear of the good work that the students do, at university and outside, and I am very pleased to reward this.”
