LUMS conference provides fascinating insight into research strengths

Library

The LUMS research conference began with a thought-provoking and engaging keynote presentation by Professor Paul Hibbert, Vice Principal Education at the University of St Andrews, exploring ‘researching experience and the experience of research’. This was followed by presentations showcasing the work of three of our Research Centres, giving fascinating insights into the worlds of transport and logistics, marketing analytics and forecasting, and sustainable business.

In addition to our three Research Centres, there were presentations by individual researchers who introduced the audience to issues of trust and power in the bitcoin era (Dr Lara Pecis) and change processes in food markets (Dr Gillian Hopkinson).

The day concluded with an excellent doctoral poster competition. We would like to congratulate the three winners: Anna Sroginis (PhD Management Science), Ahmad Timsal (PhD Leadership & Management) and Abdullah Rashed (PhD Marketing) who were awarded with prizes for their achievements.

Many thanks to all colleagues who contributed to or participated in our LUMS Research Conference. We look forward to building on this year’s event to develop regular future opportunities for colleagues and doctoral students to exchange ideas and enhance our research community.
