The Clasp core research team (Maria Angela Ferrario &#8211; team lead and Will Simm &#8211; technical lead) is flexible and well connected, so can quickly reconfigure to bring in additional diverse expertise into the team as required including: clinical psychology, chemistry, design\u00a0 as well as health practitioners. Both the core team and Clasp project PI, Jon Whittle, are based at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scc.lancs.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">School of Computing and Communications<\/a> (SCC). The team has many years experience working together in research partnership with end-users, communities, practitioners, businesses and cultural organisations in projects such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catalystproject.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Catalyst<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.research.lancs.ac.uk\/portal\/en\/people\/maria-angela-ferrario\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Team Lead: Dr Maria Angela Ferrario, Lecturer, Research Fellow.<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/maf.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-235\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/maf.png\" alt=\"maf\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/maf.png 150w, https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/maf-64x64.png 64w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 120px) 100vw, 120px\" \/><\/a>Maria Angela has a diverse background including computing, design, social psychology and philosophy. She is a technology innovation specialist and an experienced project manager both within and outside academia. His strengths are in prototype engineering and user experience development, but with skills that run much more broadly across the technology life-cycle. Will takes a specific interest in how personal data is treated by devices, services, governments and corporations, and the impact of new technologies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jonwhittle.org\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Principal Investigator: Prof Jon Whittle<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bio_pic_jon.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-232\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bio_pic_jon.jpg\" alt=\"bio_pic_jon\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bio_pic_jon.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bio_pic_jon-64x64.jpg 64w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 120px) 100vw, 120px\" \/><\/a>Jon is a Professor in the School of Computing and Communications.He is interested in using digital technologies to break down barriers and has worked on a number of digital innovation projects, for example, crowdsourcing local opinions on public safety (<a href=\"voiceyourview.com\" target=\"_blank\">voiceyourview.com<\/a>), serendipity in the digital world (<a href=\"serena.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\">serena.ac.uk<\/a>), and digital technologies for managing work\/life balance (<a href=\"digitalbrainswitch.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">digitalbrainswitch.org.uk<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Stephen Forshaw, Research Associate, LICA.<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bio_pic_steve.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-233\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bio_pic_steve.jpg\" alt=\"bio_pic_steve\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bio_pic_steve.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bio_pic_steve-64x64.jpg 64w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 120px) 100vw, 120px\" \/><\/a>Stephen is formerly a Research Associate on the Catalyst project and a <span class=\"Normal-C3\">Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts<\/span>. He has a number of specialities, including graphic and product design. Stephen, after a long career in the construction businesses, joined academia and has recently completed his PhD research at the <a href=\"http:\/\/highwire.lancs.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Highwire Doctoral Training Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thecreativexchange.org\/people\/adrian-gradinar\" target=\"_blank\">Adrian Gradinar, PhD Candidate, Creative Exchange Hub, LICA<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/adrian.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-405\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/adrian.jpg\" alt=\"adrian\" width=\"120\" height=\"126\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/adrian.jpg 610w, https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/myclasp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/adrian-430x450.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 120px) 100vw, 120px\" \/><\/a>Adrian&#8217;s expertise includes mobile and web application development and physical digital technology design. His main research area lies within the Digital Public Space and how the emergence of the Internet of Things, and connected objects, will change people&#8217;s perception of what the Digital Public Space is.
