  • Coaching and Mentoring

Lancaster has fully embraced a coaching and mentoring culture with a variety of options and opportunities to include coaching and mentoring into all aspects of University life. Most OED development programmes have a coaching element embedded and there are many skills workshops and a certificate in coaching to support these initiatives at all levels.

  • The Balanced Academic

The Balanced Academic is aimed at helping get priorities in the academic life in balance, to help you be at your best.

  • The Resilient Researcher

The Resilient Researcher is aimed at helping you sustain your resilience in an unpredictable and challenging academic life.

  • Performance and Development Review

A good appraisal is about the quality of the conversation – the reviewee should do most of the talking and your PI/line manager most of the listening. Use this conversation to constructively tackle problem areas and difficult issues as well as to highlight your achievements. All research staff are entitled to a PDR-if you have not been offered one – ask your PI for one!
