The Department of Politics, Philosophy, and Religion at Lancaster University invites applications for funded PhD places in philosophy, through the AHRC’s North West Consortium Doctoral Training Partnership competition

We are a small, busy, friendly group of philosophers with wide-ranging interests, located in the multidisciplinary PPR department. See http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/ppr/about-us/people/#philosophy.

We can supervise in most areas of the discipline, but we have particular strengths in normative and applied ethics, in the history of philosophy in the late modern period (both Anglophone and European), and in the philosophy of medicine, psychology, and psychiatry.

We are also well-placed to co-supervise interdisciplinary projects with our colleagues in Politics, International Relations, or Religious Studies.
