Cam High Road coming down towards Gearstones

Cam High Road, the Roman road from Bainbridge, comes down from the fells to the Ribblehead valley (slightly left of centre). Cattle drovers from the north congregated at the Gearstones inn, which was notorious for the rowdy behaviour of its clients. From here Fox would have joined the road to Dentdale (probably by what is now the Dales Way), and then on into Garsdale by the drove road.
