Lancaster Old Bridge c. 1797

The old bridge across the Lune, drawn just before it was demolished in 1802. The tide is out, and the ship (on right) is being unloaded to a cart. On the quay, warehouses and dwelling houses. In 1652, a crowd in Lancaster threatened to throw Fox over this bridge. Compare with Newby Bridge.
