This may have been Askrigg (see link on Long Journal text). If so, it follows rather quickly upon the
descent from Pendle Hill (‘and so y:e next day ...’). The chronology in the Short Journal
is often difficult to reconcile with that of the Long Journal: for example, the visit to the kinsman of
John Blaykling who offered him money comes immediately aftr Pendle Hill in the Short Journal, but not until
well into the journey through the Dales in the Long Journal.
