(67) his rapier though hee was hanged ʌ for it ye next day for it: yett this

And soe I returned back Into Westmoreland again & spoake
through Kendall vpon a markett day in ye dreadefull powr of
God yt people flew like chaffe ʌ before mee into there houses & warned
ym of ye mighty day of ye Lorde & how yt ye Ld God was come
to teach his people himselfe. & many people tooke my parte
& seuerall was convinct: & some people att last fell to fightinge

And then I was moved to go againe into westmerland where I had severall larg meettings| abundance convinced,___    And I went into Kendale Markett and spoke to y:e People| at y:e Markett time, I had Silver in my pockett and I was Moved to throw it out| amongst y:e People as I was going up the street before I spoke, and my life was| offerd upp amongst them, and the mighty power of y:e lord was seen in preserving [...]| and the power of y:e lord was so mighty and so strong, y:t be; peʌople flew before| and runne into y:e shopps for fear, and terror took hold upon them; I was| Moved to open my mouth and lift upp my voyce aloud in the mighty power of| the lord; and to tell y:m the mighty day of y:e lord was coming up on all deceit| full Merchaundize and wayes; and to call y:m all to repentance and a turn=|ing to the light lord God and his spirit wthin them for it to teach them and lead| them and tremple before y:e ʌmighty lord God of heaven and earth; for his mighty day was| comeing; and so passed through the streets; and when I came to y:e townes end I gote| upon a stumpp and spoke to y:e people; and so y:e People begane to fight some| for mee and some against mee, and so after a while I passed away wthout| any harme _______

And Jam: Naylor hee trauailed vppe & downe in many places amongst
people yt was conuinct: & att last hee & ff: Howghill were cast
Into prison by ye malitious preists & magistrates Into Apleby goale

went downe: & went Into ye steeplehouse in ye dreade & powr of ye
Lorde & when ye preist had donne I spoake amongst ym ye worde of ye
Lorde: wch was as a hammer & a fire amongst ym: & though Lampitt

had beene at variance with most of ye preists ʌ yett gagst ye truth hee
& | they all Joined togeather: & ye mighty power of ye Lorde was soe
over all: yt: preist Bennett saide ye steeplehouse shooke & hee
                  trembled & thought yt
was afraide ʌ ye steeplehouse woulde fall on his head & went his ways out for
feare: speakinge a few confused words: & ye Lords power was ouer ym all
though there was a many preists: & they had noe power as yett to
persecute

And after I came vppe to Swarthmoore & there came vppe 4 or 5 preists &
I asked ym: whether any of ym: coulde say they euer had a worde from
ye Lorde to goe & speake to such ʌor such a people; & none of ym durst
say | soe: but one of ym: burst out Into a passion & saide hee coulde
speake his experiences as well as I: butt I tolde him experience
was one thinge but to goe with a message & a worde from ye
Ld as ye prophetts & ye Apostles had & did: & as I had

And then I went upp to Swarthmoore ag:n over y:e sands and went to
ulverston steeple house as I had done severall times; and so upon a
Lecture day I went into y:e steeplehouse it being y:e Markett day and
when the priest had done I spoke and there were many priests there

And one was bitter and spoke to mee and asked mee If I had the spirit
of discerning, I told him I had, wch made him to tremble, the power of y.e lord
God being so mighty and powerfull amongst them which made him so
to tremble, that hee confessed y:t hee was afraid y:t the steeple house
should have fallen upon his head, and so y:e mighty power and dread
of y:e lord God came over all y:t answered the witness in many; and y:e
graves| opened and y:e dead heard the voyce of God ___
