A Lancaster computing professor has received a prestigious international award for their achievements in science.

Professor Corina Sas has been presented her award in the category of ‘Science’ at the Digital Female Leader Awards 2019, which was held at Deutsche Telekom’s Headquarters in Bonn, Germany and attracted an audience of more than 370 people.

The awards, which are organised by Global Digital Women, honour pioneering women in digital fields and attracted more than 700 applicants from 19 countries across all the categories.

Professor Sas said: “I am humble and extremely grateful for receiving this Digital Female Leader Award for the Science category. This celebrates the research in Human-Computer Interaction that I have done over the last decade with my excellent research group and network of collaborators. In particular it highlights the work on the AffecTech Innovative Training Network that I coordinate focusing on personalised technologies for affective health, and the work on the Digital Threads, a project which I led focusing on the economic empowerment of underprivileged women in developing countries.
