The small grant projects process for the N8 PRP has now progressed into the next stage and there are six proposals that are being developed for submission by 15th September - details in the attached (also available on the Security Lancaster Policing theme webpage). The New Researchers in Policing Network (NRiPN) is now open for registration. NRiPN is free to join for all postgraduate and ECR working on research related to policing. It provides an opportunity for new and early career researchers to benefit from N8 PRP support and create a collaborative professional network, increasing the opportunities for members to have a meaningful impact on police policy and practice and shape the future of policing research.

Horizon Europe funding opportunities
€1.6bn Horizon Europe funding opportunities under civil security for society (Cluster 3), which includes policing (especially cyber-security, protection of citizens against crime, and CT) . The 2021 call was released on June 30th with a deadline of November. The UK has, post-Brexit transition, secured associate member status for this fund, although projects will need to involve collaboration with EU institutions or organisations.
Zale Johnson, the National Contact Point & Global Innovation Lead for Security has been keen to stress to me that in this round, Horizon Europe are keen for proposals from the social sciences (as well as proposals from the natural sciences) looking at policing.
