Deconstructing Donation Conference

Conference Itinerary

Registration takes place from 9:30am and the conference will begin at 10am, and is due to finish at 5:30pm; lunch will be provided.

The conference consists of a plenary by Professor Erica Haimes, Newcastle University and a panel session from those working at the coal face of donation, including Dr Quenton Wessels, Anatomist at Lancaster Medical School and Sarah Ralley, Specialist Organ Donation Nurse at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Throughout the day, presentations will be given from researchers and educators from across the UK and EU.

The conference closes with a panel discussion on what the future holds for the notion of 'donation' with Dr Lucy Frith, University of Liverpool, Professor Steve Wilkinson, Lancaster University, Dr Ciara Kierans, University of Liverpool, and Sarah Norcross, Progress Educational Trust.

Paul Woodgate, Society and Ethics Advisor for the Wellcome Trust, will also be speaking about research funding opportunities, and will be available for individual appointments.

Informal Dinner – Sunday December 14th

There will be a dinner held the night before the conference for any attendees or speakers who wish to attend. This will be at attendees' own expense. It will take place at 7pm at the Waterwitch restaurant in Lancaster.

Conference Dinner – Monday December 15th

There will be a dinner held for all attendees and speakers on the evening of the conference at 6:30pm at The Meeting House Restaurant in Lancaster. This will be at attendees' own expense.
