Post-Brexit Britain: opportunities and priorities

Thursday 15th December 2016, Management School LT 06

1pm – 3pm

The future of Britain looks very different today than a year ago. This is an opportunity to consider the research and wider implications of Brexit for all areas of British life. It is not concerned with diagnosis or evaluation of what happened, but with research-informed discussion of the possible and preferable futures of post-Brexit Britain.

We are inviting 5 minute reflections, followed by 5 minutes Q&A from colleagues across campus.

There is no limit to the topics which may be considered, and we invite your reflections on your area of expertise. Topics might include:

  • work
  • the environment
  • education
  • international relations
  • migration
  • leisure, travel and sport
  • policing
  • engineering and infrastructure
  • science
  • taxation

…and many more.

Academics and partners from business and the public and voluntary sectors are welcome. All are welcome to attend, even if not offering a talk.

The purpose is to learn from one another and form new collaborations. There are new funding opportunities in the area, such as the ESRC call on Brexit.

To offer a talk, please send name, affiliation and title to researchinstitutes@lancaster.ac.uk
