Seven Dimensions for Action on Climate Change – Thursday (15/04/14)
Dr Jonathan Rowson is director of the RSA’s Social Brain Centre and is a former UK chess champion. His report for the RSA, ‘A New Agenda On Climate Change’ is one of the most insightful recent thought pieces on the subject. It takes at its starting point the phenomenon of human denial, a full grasp of the rebound effect and the need to leave fossil fuel in the ground. It proposes eight ways to move forward in the light of these understandings.
Jonathan will explain his ‘simple but not simplistic’ reframing of the climate change agenda, designed to enable the interdisciplinary systems thinking that the challenge requires. Exploring the implications of the seven dimensions for action on climate change.
