The Future of Universities?

Former Home and Education Secretary the Rt Hon Charles Clarke, a Visiting Professor at Lancaster University’s Politics, Philosophy and Religion department, and Professor Ed Byrne, the President and Principal of King’s College London, will be on campus on February 3 to launch their new book.

The book ‘The University Challenge’ examines the future of universities and looks at how universities must look to help shape societies and adapt to suit a changing world.

The launch event is hosted by the University’s Institute for Social Futures. After the launch in the Physics Building from 6pm there will be a panel discussion examining ‘What’s Wrong with universities and How Do We Fix It?

The authors will be joined in the discussion, chaired by Lancaster’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Engagement Dame Sue Black, by Director of the N8 Research Partnership Dr Annette Bramley and Lecturer in Islamic Studies Dr Shuruq Naguib.
