Everyday futures draws together futures research, studies of everyday life and social practice to explore, design, analyse and intervene in futures-in-the-making. The focus is on the details and doings of daily life across space and time.
Everyday lives are supposed and made in futures of different focus and scale. Global futures, future homes, city futures, energy futures: all make assumptions and have implications for everyday lives. Yet these implications are seldom explored. In this sense everyday futures are a unique crossing point. Making the everyday explicit offers a method for understanding the connections and contradictions between futures of multiple types and scales.
