The Department of Sociology and the Law School are pleased to jointly announce the next in our In the next in the In Conversation online webinar series, focusing on what role social sciences can play in shaping the next generation of digital technologies. The event will take place on Thursday 15th July, from 5pm to 6pm and is open to anyone thinking of studying at Lancaster University.

The event will involve a conversation between Dr Catherine Easton, Professor Corinne May-Chahal, and Dr Luke Moffat, chaired by Dr Joe Deville, in which the panel will explore routes towards the development of more secure, more ethical, and more inclusive digital technologies. This will include addressing questions such as: how can legal scholars and sociologists work with other disciplines to contribute towards the development of more secure, more ethical digital technologies? Are existing social scientific methods still fit for purpose? As part of this conversation, the panel will draw on insights from two research projects: Trustworthy Autonomous Systems in Security (TAS-S) and isITethical.
