There's more to it than just climbing

Please familiarise yourself with the rules below before arriving at the Centre. It's important that you adhere to the information below to ensure that you enjoy your session safely. Click any of the boxes below to find out more.

  • Make sure your session is pre-booked before arriving at the Centre.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, you must book the facilities you wish to use online, ahead of your session. Because of some of the measures we've implemented, you will not be able to use any other facilities than the one you booked and back to back bookings are not permitted.

We wil have things back to normal as soon as possible.

  • At the moment, only registered climbers may use the wall.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we are unable to offer beginner classes and as a result, can only accommodate registered climbers or up to two non-registered climbers providing thet are accompanied by a registered climber.

A registered climber is someone who has undertaken a face-to-face competency assessment at the Centre with one of our qualified staff.

Registered climbers may accompany two non-registered climbers to use the wall, providing the registered climber has signed a supervision consent form. Registered climbers under the age of 18 may not supervise unregistered climbers.

  • Wear the correct equipment at all times.

The correct footwear and safety equipment must be worn when climbing. If you do not have this, you can hire the equipment from reception for a fee.

More information on equipment hire is availableon the Booking & Prices page.

  • Do not misuse the equipment.

For your safety, and the safety of others, you must use the equipment the way it is intended for use. All climbers must sign a statement to confirm they are capable of using the equipment properly and comfortably.

The equipment proivided by the centre is cleaned between sessions and checked by one of the instructors. On completing your session please place all equipment in the correct place and check its condition. If any damage is found, please report this immediately.

Any misuse of equipment will result in the immediate end of your session.

  • Arrive promptly for your session.

Please arrive as close to your session time as possible and a maximum of 5 minutes early. Dressed appropriately, ready to start your session. We want to restrict the amount of unnecessary time people spent in changing rooms and ask that you shower at home, rather than using the facilities here.

  • Abide by the current COVID-19 measures.

A circulation route is in place throughout the Centre, this includes the wall. When using the facilities, always follow the marked routes and ensure you remain a safe distance away from others.

You'll need to wear a mask in and around the Centre but you are free to remove it when you are climbing.

There are plenty of hand sanitiser stations for you to use. Please do so at every opportunity.

Book your session online, ahead of arrival to reduce contact with the reception team and prevent any unnecessary exposure.

Always check the latest information on the COVID-19 page.

  • Respect other peoples abilities.

There may be other people using the wall at the same time. It is important that you maintain proper social distancing and do not mix equipment. other peoples abilities vary from your own so be mindful of that and allow eachother plenty of time and space.

  • In situ ropes are for top roping only, not leading.

In situ ropes are for top roping only, not leading. When leading on your own ropes please pull down in situ ropes and replace them after your climb. If you do not know how to climb using ropes we recommend that you attend our beginner's classes.
