Children’s Swimming Lessons restart at Lancaster University Sports Centre

Swimming Pool

We are pleased to announce that Children’s Swimming Lessons will restart on Monday 13 September 2021 for children aged 3-15 years previously enrolled prior to Covid-19.

Due to staff shortages there are some important changes to the previously run swimming programmes to enable a fair opportunity for everyone wishing to sign up.

On Tuesday 7 September, we will be holding an enrolment day, lines will open from 9am until 9pm to book your child’s place by phoning the centre on 01524 510600 or coming to reception in person. Extra staff will be on hand to help take the calls. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, once the lessons are fully booked a waiting list will be created and you will be contacted as soon as a space becomes available.

The Swimming lessons will range from Pre-school up to Stage 8 and we will be also be offering Rookie Lifeguards sessions. Prices start from £73.45 for a 13-week course.

If you are unsure of your child’s swimming capabilities and would like some guidance as to what level they are at, we will be holding an assessment session in the pool on Monday 6 September between 4pm-7pm where swimming teachers will be available to advise you on what level your child is at before Tuesday’s enrolment. The session will be free for children to attend and should only take ten minutes, adults won’t need to go in the water with their children. To book your slot for Monday’s assessment session please contact reception on (01524) 510600.

Behind the scenes the Sports Centre team are busy recruiting new swimming teachers with the aim of providing more lessons in the near future. The team would like to thank everyone for their understanding over the past year.
