This is to allow for new services to be installed to provide utilities and data to the new Health Innovation Campus (HIC).
The services will connect the Health Innovation Campus with the Sports Centre via a network of trenches. These will be dug along the eastern road behind the Sports Centre, closing the car park to the rear and beyond to the Health Innovation Campus construction site.
During these works, access to the Bowling Green from the Sports Centre will be maintained via a pedestrian pathway, however vehicular access will be closed. The footpath that leads east from the Bowling Green down to the lake will be closed.
Customers can use the Sports Field car park (car park K) and benefit from two hours free parking, however please be aware you MUST get your ticket from the parking meter at the Sports Centre. From Monday 4th March, please make sure a valid ticket is clearly displayed in your vehicle if you're parking at the Sports Field car park.
We are in the process of making improvements to enable two hours free parking tickets to be issued also from the parking meter at the Sports Field car park.
Please note, longer stays are charged at the normal rate.
Some of the works will take place in close proximity to the Sports Centre. At this point, some noise disruption my be experienced within the Sports Centre building. This will be managed locally by the contractor and project team.
The Sports Centre will be fully closed on Monday 8th April for one day whilst the services are connected.
