989 Shaft
La Secada VN51359770 Alt. 243m Length 20m Depth 15m
A hole in a small depression which can be free-climbed down for about 10m, with the draught going in at Easter, but powering out in the summer. Part way down the shaft is an excavated hole with a climb down into a chamber with no draught. At the base of the entrance shaft is a small chamber with a cobble floor and a crawl off into a larger continuation. The sandy crawl has been dug to a rock and calcite blockage which requires a big chisel or drill and crowbar. A small continuation can be seen beyond.
A large pinnacle of rock which appeared ready to drop in the shaft is now wedged 4m down.
Described as horrid, tight, sharp and loose, but may be worth pursuing because of the draught.
