1319 Cueva del Cuervo (La Cuevona)
Riaño VN52429957 Alt. 245m Length 5m
Updated 3rd March 2000; 14th May 2000
A deep, 100m long depression, lined with 30m high cliffs at the north-east
end. The north-west wall has a resurgence entering about 7m up but the passage
at the top quickly becomes too small. The stream sinks in a bouldery floor
which would appear relatively easy to dig. There are a number of holes in
the southern part of the depression that take water; one drops 4m in a rift
to a bouldery floor.
The impressive site sits directly over the avens at the end of the 3rd River Inlet in Cueva de la Hoyuca (107). There appears to be about 50m altitude difference.
