It&#8217;s a joint PhD programme between the departments of&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/maths\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mathematics and Statistics<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/lums\/our-departments\/management-science\/\" target=\"_blank\">Management Science<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-default-sans-font-family has-small-font-size\">The training programme begins with a one-year MRes course followed by a three-year PhD project, many of which are developed and delivered with industrial partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-default-sans-font-family has-small-font-size\">STOR-i have internationally recognized expertise that ranges widely across forecasting, optimization, simulation, statistical modelling and inference, with a particularly strong focus on computationally intensive approaches. This group have ranked in the top five universities in the UK in every review of RAE\/REF since 1992.
